Key Features of Laser Transfer Printing

Why Laser Transfer Printing?

White Laser Transfers are an excellent way to add full colour designs to fabrics, but also to add decorations to complex items such as cooler bags and even stress balls. It is done by printing a digital image onto special transfer paper, then placing this onto the fabric or garment. This transfers the inked image onto the product.

The Process of Laser Transfer Printing

How it Works?

DTG printing is the process of printing images directly onto fabrics and garments, such as t-shirts. It employs the use of textile inkjet technology to print your desired image onto the garment. It’s useful to imagine it as a giant inkjet printer, but instead of papers and documents, it prints designs on fabric.

Designing & Printing

Our Design Team Converts your designs in the desired printable format

The best material for DTG printing is Cotton. For the best results go for 100% Combed Cotton, but if you prefer mix of comfort don't go below 80% cotton. The cotton gives a good surface for the print to adhere to and will ensure the print quality on your garment will be impressive and durable.

Weeding

Your design is then manually weeded by our team, and is prepped for pressing

This step involves applying a specialized pre-treatment solution to the fabric. It helps improve the adherence of the ink to the fabric, enhances color vibrancy, and prevents the ink from spreading too much on the fabric's surface. The pre-treatment process prepares the garment to receive the ink in a way that results in a sharp and durable print.

Curing

After Weeding, the Garment is cured to ensure the print is permanently affixed to the garment

We ensure your garment goes through either a industrial heat press or tunnel dryer to dry and permanently affix the printed ink to your shirt.

Potential Limitations of Laser Transfer Printing

What are the Possible Drawbacks?

  • Not good for bulk orders in terms of cost-effectiveness, due to the labor needs of the process.
  • Because of the cutting process, vinyl transfers are not the best choice for designs with rough, transparent or jagged lines.
  • Available color choices are limited to the stock of vinyl that we have. Because of this, color matches are not always possible.
  • Designs have to be supplied in vector format or converted before they can be cut.
  • Artwork must be supplied in or converted to a vector format before cutting can take place.
  • Artwork approvals are only provided for orders of 15 units and over.

Certain Hues can look different on a Computer Screen and on Print

Some Colors can look Different in Real Life

There aren't many things our incredible DTG process cannot achieve! However, when choosing the colors for your artwork, it’s important to note that they may look different on a real product than what you see on your computer monitor. Even if you have calibrated your monitor to a specific color profile, there are various factors that influence the final appearance of colors on a printed product. Because of this, we can’t guarantee color accuracy 100%.

Our printers will convert your submitted print file from RGB to CMYK color space. This color conversion process changes the color gamut, or range of colors that can be expressed. You must be very cautious when using bright neon and pastel RGB values in your print files. Some examples include hot pinks, lime greens, construction orange, highlighter yellow, Easter egg shades, etc. You should also consider other factors like fabric material, garment color, and whether your print will require a white under base layer when choosing colors.

If color accuracy is important to you, we suggest ordering our pre-made color swatches on a sample product. You can use those swatches to decide which RGB values best compare to the desired results when printed on a physical product.
